MFF is launching a new Medium Grant Facility (MGF), for medium sized project, funding projects of up to USD 100’000.00 for interested registered NGOs, CBOs or Government departments who are prepared to work in partnership in projects that seek to communicate and address concerns of community empowerment, good governance, building and applying knowledge, climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction, gender considerations among other pressing coastal concerns guided by the MFF work programmes and the National Strategy and Action Plan. Call for Proposal for Medium Grant Facility Projects.

 

The Mangrove for the Future (MFF) Programme is a regional initiative that is being currently implemented in eight countries (India, Indonesia, Maldives, Pakistan, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam).  The Programme has two objectives, viz., to strengthen the environmental sustainability of coastal development and to promote the investment in coastal ecosystem management.  It provides a collaborative platform among the many different agencies, sectors and countries who are addressing challenges to coastal ecosystem and livelihood issues.

 

The MFF Seychelles National Coordinating Body composed of Government Departments, NGOs, national authorities and individual as members provides overall ICZM guidance and technical oversight to the MFF Seychelles component.

 

MFF has funded 12 Small grants Facility and one Large Grant Facility in the Seychelles since 2009. This year MFF is launching a new Medium Grant Facility (MGF), for medium sized project, funding projects of up to USD 100’000.00 to interested registered NGOs, CBOs or Government departments who are prepared to work in partnership in projects  that seek to communicate and address concerns of community empowerment, good governance, building and applying knowledge, climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction, gender considerations among other pressing coastal concerns guided by the MFF work programmes and the National Strategy and Action Plan, NSAP. MFF MGF will award grants to be implemented for up to a period of two years to selected projects having sound management systems, prior knowledge and practices in implementing community –based and national initiatives and are committed to producing results.
