Where the Ocean Begins: MFF featured in Sri Lanka business chamber's "The New Standard"

Location: Bangkok, Thailand. 4th Aug 2014

The Sri Lanka Business and Biodiversity (SL B&B) Platform is a tool to foster dialogue between the private sector and conservation agencies. The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce has joined together with IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) and Dilmah Conservation to launch the Platform, aimed at providing valuable services to Sri Lankan businesses interested in sustainable development and conserving the natural resources of our country. MFF is featured in its July newsletter, and is seen as a key partner in business and biodiversity activities in Sri Lanka.

The New Standard is the official newsletter of the Sri Lanka Business and Biodiversity Platform. In its July 2014 issue, MFF is featured as an important partner for conservation and development. MFF is described as a multi-partner initiative that implements activities "where the ocean begins" (read the SL B&B newsletter here).

In the July 2014 issue, The New Standard discusses the marine environment in all its diversity, and how it provides numerous opportunities for the business community to engage in. Pelagic seabirds link the oceans with land through foraging and flight just as much as the mangrove ecosystems do, acting as the land’s entryways to the oceans.
