MFF India Small Grant Mid-term Review

Location: New Delhi, India. 21st Sep 2012

The small grant mid-term review is a useful mechanism through which the progress of projects is evaluated and reviewed by the MFF Secretariat, NCB members and MFF partners.

The workshop was held on 21 September 2012 at the IUCN India Country Office in New Delhi. Dr. J R Bhatt, Member Secretary NCB India, and Ms. Meenakshi Datta Ghosh, Country Representative, IUCN India, jointly chaired the workshop; the workshop was also fortunate to have Mr. Hem Pande, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forests present.

The progress made by the seven project grantees was detailed through presentations interjected with animated discussions that saw the betterment of implementation methodologies and the inception of several new partnerships and potential for several more. Amongst interchange on contractual obligations, budgets and timelines, the future sustainability of each project was also deliberated. Mr. Pande and Dr. Bhatt provided insight into potential linkages between project outputs and state and national level policies, as well opportunities for replication and up-scaling of projects in line with national priorities.

The workshop is a step forward in steering the MFF India programme towards a more successful future!
