MFF-IUCN Cambodia Organizes First National Meeting

The first national meeting on Cambodia-Mangroves for the Future Initiatives was organized by the Ministry of Environment of the Royal Government of Cambodia in cooperation and financial support from MFF IUCN-Cambodia on the 15th of June 2012 at the Cambodiana Hotel-Phnom Penh. The meeting was presided over by H.E Dr. Vann Monyneath, Deputy Director-General of National Committee for Management and Development of Cambodian Coastal Zones, Deputy Director-General of Technical Department of MoE and Director of ASOEN.
The main objectives of the meeting were
- To provide participants with information on Mangroves for the Future Initiatives;
- To establish Executive Board for MFF-Cambodia (EB-MFF-Cambodia);
- To review and approve the terms of reference for EB-MFF-Cambodia.
The meeting focused mainly on the following key points:
- Title: changing from a national working group for MFF-Cambodia to Executive Board for MFF-Cambodia (EB-MFF-Cambodia)
- Terms of Reference of EB-MFF-Cambodia
- Administrative procedures for requesting formal recognition and approval of the EB-MFF-Cambodia from the ministry of environment/national committee for management and development of Cambodian coastal zones
All of the participants supported and agreed to the formation of EB-MFF-Cambodia.
