Newsroom :: News :: 4th Integrated Coastal Management course kickstarts new learning opportunities for Asia coastal managers
Since 2007, MFF, BOBLME, and the Asian Institute of Technology have been designing hands-on training and learning opportunities for coastal management practitioners around the region. The course is designed for mid-career coastal resources management professionals to master integrated coastal planning and management and sustainable coastal development. Two ICM courses have been conducted in 2011 and 2013, and have collectively trained at least 65 coastal management professionals.

In 2014, the six week intensive course will develop the necessary theoretical and practical skills to design and implement ICM projects that integrate across sectors, involve diverse stakeholders and give consideration to the effects of climate change. To achieve this, the course includes one week facilitated practical field visit where participants apply their knowledge in a specific site. This year, the study site is Koh Chang to the east of the Gulf of Thailand.

Note: This course is not open for public applications. The applicants are nominated by the respective National Coordinating Bodies of the MFF countries
