11th MFF Regional Steering Committee Meeting

The annual meeting of Mangroves for the Future Regional Steering Committee Members

Location: Preah Sihanouk Town, Preah Sihanouk Province, Cambodia. 25th Oct 2014 to 28th Oct 2014

The Mangroves for the Future (MFF) Regional Steering Committee (RSC) Meeting is an important annual regional event, where MFF member countries along with donors and development partners update and discuss the MFF programme.

The Eleventh Meeting of the MFF-Regional Steering Committee will be organized in Preah Sihanouk province, Cambodia on 25-28 October 2014, which will mainly focus on:

  • New directions for the MFF initiative in 2014-2018;
  • MFF Phase 3 Implementation Modalities and Results Framework; and
  • Learning Event: "Sustainable Financing for Coastal Ecosystem Management", or how MFF sustains its financing beyond donor funding once MFF Phase 3 ends.

 On 28 October, a field visit is planned for these areas:

  • Ream National Park; and
  • Polder Saline Dyke of Preah Sihanouk province

During the study tour, there will be an opportunity to learn how local communities protect, restore and manage mangroves and seagrass. Additionally, participants in the study tour can get to know how communities manage, protect and maintain the dykes that prevent saline intrusion into fields.
