Field work (in Phuket), Data Analysis and Report Preparation
Objective: Students visit an existing project site and getting familiar with the problem the project is addressing and the tools used to resolve the problem. Student submit an individual report on his/her findings (20% marks)
Activities: - Familiarization of project operation site (Situation analysis/issue identification) - Application of information gathering and planning tools learned from the course - Prepare an integrated coastal management plan for Phuket (or section of Phuket)
Issues/sectors to consider: - Tourism - Shipping - Fisheries - Disasters (flooding, etc) - Coastal erosion
