Applying gender integrated planning in the MFF Programme (MFF internal training workshop)

Location: Asia Region. 20th Apr 2015 to 24th Apr 2015

As part of its resilience approach to coastal management, MFF strongly focuses on gender responsive project planning. All members of the MFF implementation team are expected to be knowledgeable and skilled in the gender integrated planning process, in order to be able to facilitate that process with national partners on the ground. This knowledge will ensure that project monitoring and reporting are related to gender responsive planning and programme implementation.

The target participants include National Coordinators, selected National Coordinating Body members (MFF Focal Points), national project staff (small grant facility officers).

The workshop will introduce concepts on:

  1. Conducting a gender analysis - identifying the condition and position of women and men;
  2. Integrating gender concerns into program or project objectives, activities and inputs - identifying the difference between practical needs and strategic interests of women and men; and
  3. Identifying risks, developing indicators, and a monitoring and evaluation plan - ensuring that both practical needs and strategic interests of women and men have been incorporated.

A practical field component will be included in the program.
